Let me upgrade you...

Today was the day all Apple fanboys were waiting for; Steve Job's presentation at Macworld 2008. Sure there was exciting news on new iPhone apps, iTunes and Apple TV but nothing compares to the announcement on the new Apple Macbook Air. The Macbook Air is Apple's newest laptop which is super duper thin, probably the thinest laptops ever made. The Macbook Air which sports a 13.3 inch screen and is .16 inches thick at the top and .76 inches thick at the bottom. Weighing in at only 3 pounds, this baby has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (1.6 or 1.8Ghz), 2GB Ram standard, a SSD 64GB or standard 80GB Hard drive, a multitouch trackpad with gestures like pan, zoom, rotate, and also has a full back lit keyboard. For the thinnest laptop ever made, the price is amazingly only $1,799. You can pre-order it now but will be shipping in two weeks.

I'm not too impressed with the MacBook Air. Yes, its extremely thin but I don't like the clam shape, black keyboard, no super drive... It is nice though!  But I guess I just don't need it.

However, I'm excited about the new iPhone features:
-Maps: New hybrid view, same as Google Maps. Satellite imagery and street mapping available on a single view.
-Maps: Location triangulation. Uses nearby WiFi access points and GSM towers (on the iPhone, anyway) to roughly guesstimate your current location.
-Web Clips: Web bookmarks can now be saved as home screen icons, including zoom and location information.
-Home screen: Icons on the home screen can now be rearranged.
-Home screen: Up to 9 home screens can now be created and "flicked" between.
-SMS: A single text message can now be sent to multiple recipients; groups can be recalled for future use... FINALLY!!!
-iTunes: Movie rentals are now supported.
-iTunes: Support for lyrics.
