"WORK"

No one believes me when I say, "I am WORKING!" Maybe its because I don't have a typical 9-5, I'm my own boss, and I actually enjoy what I do. I'm an event coordinator... (or Club Promoter but I prefer event coordinator b/c I put on all kinds of events). It takes a lot of planning and organizing to put together a successful event. Lately I've been busy putting together our fliers for all of our upcoming events, updating and maintaining our site/myspace, searching for new venues, and networking! Luckily, I have tremendous partners, a wonderful team, and supportive people around me.

Last night, Victory Nightlife had a general meeting for our staff and street team at Starbucks in Mission Valley. We discussed our upcoming events and passed out fliers for Body Rock, Concrete @ Excelsior, and Club Massive @ HOB.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight! We had a great and productive meeting and I hope everyone had a great time at D&B as well. Today, I'll be headed up to Irvine for a meeting at 12PM w/ Boogie Zone. Afterwards, I'm headed back down to SD for a Body Rock meeting at 6PM at Seau's in Mission Valley. Then I'm off to watch the Purple Haze and Super Kronics game at AUI starting at 7PM.

Purple Haze

Just wanted to thank everyone for the words of encouragement for my first Purple Haze basketball game. Its was definitely exciting and different being on the court. Great job to my fellow teammates! Lets keep it up guys... We did well for our first game. We played a great first half but it got away from us in the second. Who's down for some conditioning though? HAHA I felt great at the beginning of the game but I didn't know how to pace myself and fatigue got the better of me. I'm looking forward to our next game!

This Wednesday, May 9th we have two more basketball games at AIU in Miramar:
7:15PM - Purple Haze 1 vs. Goon Squad
8:10PM - Super Kronics vs. Team Timbal

Hopefully everyone can make it out to support the rest of the Wildboyz and friends!

Also, tonight (Tuesday, May 8th) Victory Nightlife will be having a general meeting at 9PM at the Mission Valley Starbucks. Afterwards our staff and street team will be cruising to Dave & Busters at 10PM for Happy Hour. Everyone is welcome to come hang out w/ us. CHEAP DRINKS! I'd love for you guys to come out, support, and meet the rest of the Victory staff.

Purple Haze Debut

Cinco De Mayo turned out to be the "WORSE DAY in SPORTS HISTORY"... Every team/person I rooted for lost that day.

-The Chicago Bulls were blown out by the Detroit Pistons in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals
-The Houston Rockets lost their Game 7 playoff game against the Utah Jazz at Home
-Oscar Dela Hoya lost to Floyd Mayweather by split decision

The Rockets game really hurt. T-Mac is 0-6 in his last 6 playoff series... He still hasn't made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs... They had it too! =( Sad Face!

A handful of the homies came over to watch both Game 7 and the Fight at my house on my dual screen HDTV set up. Afterwards, we all mobbed to Excelsior in Downtown La Jolla. It was slow at first but it was crackin' by 11:45ish... The dance floor was packed and the vibe was fun. Lots of our Victory staff (past/present) came through, UrbanFX, Culture Shock, Team Nacu, and a entire party bus full of people... We had about 4 "last songs" including Notorious BIG's "Fucking You Tonight"... "Who you fuck? Point at them!" HAHA

Sunday was HOT! Hilltop was crackin' too w/ AIU ballers! I tweaked my ankle running defensive drills with Coach OJ... It was basically a basketball clinic for me at Hiltop. Everyone was helping me prepare for our AIU Basketball League.

Join us tonight at AIU (Miramar) to watch my basketball debut with Purple Haze 2 @ 8:10PM. We'll be playing the defending champs "Morning Breeze" tomorrow night so come out and support Purple Haze. I'm nervous but mostly excited!

Into the HEART

Yesterday, I judged at Climax Dance Competition at the Chula Vista YMCA. It wasn't what I expected... It was outdoors, really cold, light sprinkles, dim lights, with a linoleum dance floor. But it turned out to be lots of fun b/c I judged w/ Erik Saradpon (EK Etc. & Formality) and Anna Sarao (The Jedi Master of the Dance Scene).

Props to Mark for putting the show together... I never would have been able to organize an event like that when I was in high school. Great job bro!

All the competing teams were high school students... There were some very talented individuals. I finally got to see Choreo Cookies perform for the first time... They're ILL! Oceanside represent! I was pleasantly surprised and I'm looking forward to their set at Body Rock.

Afterwards, Anna, Christine, and I meet up w/ Myster, Ollie, and Chris at Seau's in Mission Valley. We were all starving! It was my first meal all day at 10PM. We feasted like KINGS!
Ollie explained to us, "You have to get into the HEART" if you want to get a girl! I'm still working my way into Myster's heart... Thanks for the advice Ollie! HAHA
Tonight is the night!!! Game 7: Rockets vs. Jazz... De La Hoya vs. Mayweather... and of course EXCELSIOR for Cinco De Mayo!

Spiderman 3

Edwards Cinemas in Mira Mesa has converted into an IMAX theatre as of today! Althea and I headed over there at 5:00ish and there was already a long line of people for the 11:59AM showing of Spiderman 3. They still have 7 hours till showtime... CRAZY!

The only IMAX tickets left for Spiderman 3 were for 3:15AM. They only had 21 tickets left and I bought 10 of them. As of 8:11PM, I have one extra ticket left so if you want it give me a call... So far we have: TK, Althea, Christine, Ollie, Chris, Allan, Freddy (?), JR, & Anna.

If you're bored tonight come join us in line... HAHA I can't wait!!! I don't even know what the difference between IMAX and the normal digital is but its a $3 difference in ticket price so it better be good! I'm gonna go in my Spiderman suit! HAHA
I know its late but after watching the Spiderman 3 trailer... How could you not wanna go?!

I can't wait to see VENOM!!!

After my Body Rock meeting in Downtown yesterday, I swung by SD Custom Printing to pick up Body Rock fliers. The fliers look really good! I love the whole throw back look!

I chatted it up w/ Vaughn (owner) while I waited for the fliers to finish. He told me they do anywhere from 100,000 - 150,000 fliers everyday! Thats a lot of freakin' fliers. He doesn't know where they all go but they're all out there somewhere. On top of that, their printing machine alone cost $250,000... I got to see the whole process. Pretty cool!

I'm looking forward to the "Open Circle Battle Royale" b/c of all the drama building up between a few certain teams. You won't want to miss the largest Hip-Hop competition on the West Coast!
