[Friday, September 25th] Since Hannah, Tine, and Lester decided to stay in LA Friday before heading back to SD for Sway we paid some of our favorite streetwear stores a visit. I headed out to the new Crooks & Castles Con.cept Store off of Sunset Blvd to pay Emil and the rest of the C&C crew a visit.
The'll be showcasing different art exhibits monthly at their Con.cept Store. Their first exhibit features Chi Modu, a renown photojournalist and cultural observer who is responsible for some of the most iconic photos in hip-hop. Chi Modu's photos will be on display until October 10th. Go check it out!
Shout out to Big Cuz!
In 1990, Chi Modu began working for The Source, which was the definitive magazine of hip-hop culture at the time. He was able to capture images of various artist as real people, not "one-dimensial celebrities".
