R&R: Rhythm & Recreation Recap!

[Friday, October 9th] It was back down to San Diego once again for our bi-monthly R&R: Rhythm & Recreation at Sway Nightclub at the Keating Hotel. It was one of our best nights there! The vibe was hype, everyone was dancing, music was on point, and of course it was crackin'!

On behalf of the venue, I would like to apologize for the mix up with the $6 Patron shots. They have a new bar manager and he wasn't aware of our $6 Patron shot special. We did get it corrected though...

I miss everyone in San Diego! I've been spending so much time in LA trying to focus on getting my life together that I've hardly been able to hangout with the SD homies.

I bought a round of Patron shots for all these ladies since they got overcharged! I apologize once again for the mix up! Cheers!!!

Koji's Dinner Date w/ Rishi (USLA)!

[Thursday, October 8th] I ran into Lando (Boxchuttahz) & Shaun Evaristo (The Company) while I was getting work done at Panera in North Hollywood. I always seem to run into dancers there since Millennium Dance Complex is around the corner.

I meet up with Rishi (Usual Suspects) for a romantic dinner date for two at Koji's Sushi & Shabu Shabu at Hollywood & Highland. We spent time talking about my move to LA, upcoming plans for Vegas, and the usual guy talk. HAHA FYI: I'll be hosting JLounge on Saturday, November 7th along with the Victory Nightlife fam.

The Dynamite Roll: 8 pcs of Spicy Cali roll, baked with creamy masago and lots of broiled bay scallops. Garnished with tempura crumbs and masago.

We also ordered 2 Kobe beef specials... OMG it was seriously the bomb!
Kobe Beef Special: $43.99 ea
What can I say? I'm an expensive date! HAHA Thanks Rishi for dinner!

Since we were already at Hollywood & Highland we headed over to Level 3 to say hi to the 21XL crew. I still had to finish my discussion questions for my online class so I ended up doing it at Level 3. Not a good idea... I was seriously on stage in the VIP area working on homework. HAHA
Kat x Melissa Reign (Babe Blvd) x Myron Marten (21XL)
Congrats Vicky on your engagement and new dance studio! I remember back in the day everyone had a crush on Vicky when she was dancing for Kaba! I still have a baby crush on her! ;) HAHA
Mica (21XL) x TK
DJ Zeb (Stay Fresh) x DJ Mark Marcelo (Victory) getting shots from the Absolut Vodka girl!
I heart them: Myron x Chris Cruz (Stay Fresh)... Oh yeah, Melissa Reign back there too! HAHA
It was a sober night spent finishing homework in the club. HAHA! Time to head back to SD in the morning....

The Process - Eddie Cruz

Rickey Kim (Evil Monito) and Levi Maestro (Maestro Knows) have teamed up to launch a new web based series "The Process" which will give a brief look into the minds of some of the most influential tastemakers in the industry. This first episode features Eddie Cruz (Undefeated x Supreme) so check it out...

"As you guys know, Maestro and I have been busy the last several months working on a video series called “The Process.” The idea came about from sharing stories about the small nuances and tidbits that I gain each and every time I meet people that inspire me. Most of you guys now know who Maestro is, his show, “Maestro Knows” has become an internet hit sensation. I met Maestro before all this was happening but I had a sense that this kid could shoot and he had an innate skill to frame a story. Collaborating with Maestro on this project came as easy as pie. Of course we both had hectic schedules so this project took longer than expected. This is the first installment of many more to come. Think of these as visual podcasts in character studies of the folks you might be interested in knowing more. Hope you enjoy! These are meant to light and quick. Thanks again for your time." -Rickey Kim (Evil Monit0)

I'm on TFC? WTF!? HAHA

[Wednesday, October 7th] Mark Marcelo and I meet up with the HvyRsnl x Usual Suspects fam at Mario's for some Peruvian food lunch. I'm not sure what they ordered me but it was chicken and the green guacamole/hot sauce was freakin' sensational! We recorded a segment for TFC, visited Chachy, and got work done at the Beverly Hills public library.

@markmarcelo: "lunch was good w/ @allenpalos @chiefy74 @alexretodo @rayzaruckus @tkofthewildboyz and some spicy green sauce"

After lunch, our friend Joe (ABS CBN) <--- To be honest I don't even know what that even means but from my understanding its a news station in the Phillipines on TFC. HAHA

Okay back to the story, Joe had to record a few interviews about the new Manny Pacquaio x Nike billboard in Hollywood located next to the Nike Montalban Theater for TFC. FYI: This is Manny Pacquiao's first billboard in the United States! Congrats!
While Joe was getting B roll film, we were all just goofing off and talking about the new NBA 2K10. I want it!

Alex Retodo x Allen Palos x Ray aka DJ Rayzaruckus x Chief
Mark Marcelo even got interviewed for the TV Patrol segment but it didn't make the cut... HAHA!
I wonder if they even know that I'm not filipino!? HAHA I would think with a last name "NGUYEN" they'd catch on but... SMH!
Although I don't technically live in LA yet, I wanted to welcome Alex Retodo (HvyRsnl), who just moved down from SF! Lets make shit happen bro!
It was off to the Comedy Store off Sunset next to visit Chachy aka Pauly Shore's Personal Assistant. We actually surprised him with two pairs of Claes (courtesy of Ben) to brighten up his day! Love you!
The Weasel!
It was 4pm but we finally made it to the Beverly Hills Public Library where we both focused on being productive for the next several hours. This is what I saw written on the table I sat at... HAHA!
P.S. I wish my finger nail would fall off already! HAHA

Anyways, I woke up this morning to Jacque's tweet and this email:
@jacqueborcena: @tkofthewildboyz ummm tell me why I turn my tv on n of course it's on the Filipino channel cause of my mom. But tell ne why you're on there!

Here's the short TV Patrol clip on TFC:

Can someone translate for me please!?

My plans for world domination are slowing starting to take place... MUAHAHHAHA!

[Tuesday, October 13th] Bread & Butter @ My House!

I'll be officially guest hosting Bread & Butter at My House next Tuesday, October 13th. This is your chance to come check out Hollywood's premier Tuesday night spot. Hit me up for details...

But please keep in mind that you will most likely get rejected from the door for the following reasons:
1. Wearing something bedazzled or in the Affliction/Ed Hardy family
2. Your friends were wearing something bedazzled or in the Affliction/Ed Hardy family
3. You are a dude and came with more dudes (your ratio should be at least 2:1)
4. You did not attempt or option to pop bottles when rules 1 thru 3 on this list were broken
5. You came late and tried to text me after midnight
6. You came late and do not have my #
7. You came early and do not have my #
8. If none of the abovementioned rules were broken, you showed up on time and still did not make it in... I would suggest not attempting to come back as you most likely did not pass our doorman's discretion for an outside reason... One of which I cannot list due to the governing laws of nightlife and equal opportunity.... Juuuuust kidding!! -JL

FYI: Keri Hilson's newest music video "Slow Dance" was filmed at My House.

So who's coming this Tuesday!? Hit me up...
